I would have loved to have been there and see the pakeha lawyers fall asleep and their typists struggle to understand their words so it could be recorded in the court minutes. but as I got through some of the minutes they had people called Land officers and many of them were māori so they didn't struggle as much so the detail of the minutes were correct.
This chart is quite large and I'm going to try and enlarge it for the blog. so that you can see where the rest of our whakapapa comes from. but Wētere Te Aho is mentioned as the son of Te keha and Paretaheke and he is the only one that is. Interesting enough Paretaheke and Whariki were sisters. So Te Kapu and Ramarihi were sisters Muriwhenua who is mentioned in the newspaper article of Manuaitu was their brother.
This I suppose is where I take my leap of faith. do I trust that Te Keha is Te Aho? and therefore claim that Paretaheke is Te Kapu..
Note just as it may help, There is a application that you can download to help you read this chart and it will magnify it for you. in the link below, I used it to help me enlarge the names of this chart.
http://dl.google.com/picasa/picasa39-setup.exe
You right click save the image to your computer then download the application Picasa and when you view the saved picture it will enlarge any part of it for you.
